The Challenge

This project was a technical design assessment for the Junior Product Designer role at Commure. The goal was to rapidly design a mobile application concept, named Bloom, focused on mental wellness, mood tracking, and mindful activities.

  • Constraint: The solution had to be delivered under a strict time constraint, demonstrating not only design quality but also efficiency and effective feature prioritization.

  • Core Need: The application needed to integrate several complex features—such as Breathing exercises, Sleep tracking, Journaling, and Mood logging—into a cohesive, intuitive, and visually calming mobile experience.

The Goal

Demonstrate mastery of the full UX/UI cycle, from initial user flow to high-fidelity visual execution, that meets the high standard of a HealthTech SaaS environment.

Solution and Key Features

The solution focused on a clean, intentional interface that minimizes cognitive load while guiding the user through mindfulness activities.

  • Integrated Wellness Tracking: The main dashboard was designed to quickly surface daily intentions and track user progress across key areas (Mood, Journal, Sleep).

  • Simplified Navigation: Created a clear bottom navigation structure to allow quick access to core features: Breathing, Calm Sleep, and Journaling.

  • Visual Appeal & Calm: Used a calming color palette and clean typography suitable for a mental health application, ensuring accessibility and a pleasant user experience.

  • Rapid Prototyping: Demonstrated the ability to quickly build functional, high-fidelity mockups (showing input forms for Notes, Journal entries, and Mood) that are ready for engineering handoff.
